In memory of Mack Hannah, Senior Pastor of DBC from 2004-2015. Mack passed away on August 20, 2015 after a prolonged battle with cancer. He was beloved by the congregation of Dunwoody Baptist Church, highly respected by fellow pastors and church leaders throughout the region, and celebrated by the city council of Dunwoody, Georgia who officially declared January 11, 2015 “Mack Hannah Day.”
On this special episode of The DBC Podcast, occasional co-host Jeff Reams (Minister of Missions) sits in for the absent Bo Bowen, who is busy welcoming his third child into the world. Jeff is joined by co-host all-star Mark Paul (Minister with Students) and Lindsey Hicks, coordinator of Bread Coffeehouse, a ministry serving the students of Emory University and the surrounding community. They sit down to discuss the concept of “insiders” and “outsiders” within the church, and how Christians can facilitate a culture of inclusion rather than be viewed as a place that excludes people for all manner of petty reasons.
Additionally, Jeff, Mark and Lindsey reminisce on how Mack Hannah, former pastor of Dunwoody Baptist Church, inspired his congregation to step into the community – to “do the next right thing,” and not only share the gospel message with others, but to live according to the truth of it.
This is wonderful place to share your own stories about Mack Hannah, and also to offer your own thoughts on “insiders” and “outsiders” in the church. Let’s continue this conversation in the comments below!
