Resolutions: Be the Change You Want to See

Have you made any New Year’s resolutions for 2017?

If so, how’s it going?

Did you know most studies show a 75% failure rate by the time February 1 rolls around? Depressing, huh? But what if there is more to embracing the new year than stereotypical self-improvement? What would happen if Christians seized this blank slate-like opportunity of a new year to strengthen their relationships with God and commit to renewing their efforts to bestow his kindness and profess his truth in the public sphere?

On this episode of The DBC Podcast, I sat down for five brief interviews with different members of the ministerial staff here at Dunwoody Baptist Church. In each interview, I asked three specific questions, beginning with a lens turned to each person’s own life, but expanding outward to the Church as a whole.

1. Have you made any specific New Year’s resolutions you’d be willing to share with listeners?
2. In what specific ways do you hope to grow spiritually this year?
3. What do you think is an important issue or opportunity Christians should be more engaged in this year?
I am excited to share with you each minister’s answers to these questions, and I hope that they will stir your own thoughts regarding what you are doing to foster personal growth, spiritual growth, and missional growth in 2017.
Speaking of which, I’d love to hear your answers. Give them some thought, and then share them in the Comments section for this post. I will absolutely respond!
